What to Bring to Camp

Campers should limit belongings to one suitcase/duffel bag and a sleeping bag. Sleeping bags are preferred.

Mark all belongings with campers name. An order form for iron-on tapes is included for your use.

Remember to check the Lost & Found by the Trading Post before leaving Camp!

Items Needed:    
Sleeping bag or blankets Swimsuit (one-piece) Pants, Shorts
Pajamas, Pillow, Towels Close-Toed Shoes or boots Underwear, Socks
Long & Short Sleeved Shirts Sweater/Sweatshirts Rain Gear
Old Clothes and shoes (to wear in creek) Soap & Toothpaste/brush  

MOST IMPORTANTLY: SUNSCREEN AND BUG REPELLENT!

Avoid clothing in bright colors, floral prints, cologne, and perfume. They attract bugs.

Optional Items:

Flashlight Camera, Film Book, Cards
Spending Money Sports Equipment Medication
Toiletries Paper, Pencil, Stamps Puzzles

Theme Lunches

Some popular themes for lunches are:
Crazy Hat Lunch - If you have a crazy hat, bring it along. If you don't, make one and show your creativity.
Backwards Lunch - Wear your clothes backwards (Except for your shoes)
Clash Bash Lunch - Wear clothes that don't match; colors that look ad together; two different shoes; skirts with jeans; swim suit over your clothes, etc.
Pajama Breakfast - The only time all week you get to sleep in & show up to breakfast in your PJs!

What NOT to bring:

Jewelry Radios Cell Phones
Electronic Games Fans Knives, Guns, Fireworks
Propulsion Devices    

Medications

If medication is regularly taken, send it in a container clearly labeled with camper's name, name of medication, and instructions for its use. The Health Director controls access to them and will dispense them according to your directions.

Telephone

There is no phone available for camper use. Cell Phones are not allowed. Emergency calls will be taken at the camp office at 815-933-3011

Refund Policy

Please make refund requests in writing. NICA refund policy is that 75% of fee is refundable if cancellation is made prior to 10 days before a session begins. No refund is issued if a cancellation is 10 days or less before a session begins. No refunds will be issued after August 1.

Damages

A Charge for graffiti left on camp property is $15. Charges for other damages vary.

Show respect for other campers and property
Help keep your camp clean
Always be safe, Wear shoes at all times. Nevver throw stones. Stay away from cliffs except with staff.
Wear your name tag.
