Summer 2009 Summer Camp Session Information

Youth Camp

Five days of fun and adventure in the out of doors. Activities are in nature, barn, waterfront, crafts, adventure and recreation. You’ll stay in cabins, make new friends and have FUN!

Campers must be ages 7 to 16 as of the session start date.

Youth Camp 1: June 21-25
Youth Camp 2: June 28 - July 2
Youth Camp 3: July 19-23
Youth Camp 4: July 26-30

FEE: $265
$20 Early-Bird discount if paid on or before
April 19th

Canoe Trip: $45, Available for 12 and older only.
Must bring signed WAIVER to Camp Check-in

1-hour Horseback Ride: $25, All Ages.
Must bring signed WAIVER to Camp Check-in

Horsemanship Program: $120, All Ages

Counselor-In-Training (CIT)
CIT 1: $10, Available to campers who have completed 9th Grade.
CIT 2: $10, Available to campers who have successfully completed CIT 1

Extreme Camp

Never have enough time to do everything you want to at Youth Camp? Then come to 7 days of extra FUN. Do more of the things you like best and have time to try something new!

Campers must be ages 7 to 16 as of the session start date.

Extreme Camp 1: June 14-20
Extreme Camp 2: July 12-18

FEE: $375
$25 Early-Bird Discount if paid on or before

Family Camp

Enjoy some quality time together as a family at beautiful Camp Shaw! This is a weekend of camping fun in all program areas and evening camp fires. Each cabin sleeps 10, so bring grandma & grandpa
or your best friends to fill up your cabin!

All Ages

FEE: $425 up to 5 people/$60 additional

1-hour Horseback Ride: $25, All Ages.

 

CANOE TRIP: Campers during Youth Camps and Extreme Camps can take a half-day trip on the mighty Kankakee River. The trip is supervised by camp staff, incuding a lifeguard. Cost is $45. Sign up on Registration Form. Additional Canoe Waiver must be signed - download HERE and bring with to Camp Check-In. Canoe trip is not available to CIT campers.

1-HOUR HORSEBACK RIDE: Campers will go on a 1-hour guided trail ride through the wooded trails in and around Camp Shaw. Cost is $25 per ride, no more than 4 per camper per session. All ages. Signed horseback riding waiver must be brought to Camp Check-In. Download waiver HERE

HORSEMANSHIP PROGRAM: This program includes Horse Care, Safety, Grooming, and Riding in 2-hour sessions during 3 days of camp - a total of 6 hours of immersion!

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM
CIT 1: For campers who have completed 9th Grade and are interested in becoming a counselor. CIT 1 focuses on leadership development and teambuilding within a peer-group.

CIT 2: For teens who have completed 10th Grade and CIT 1. CIT 2 focuses on identifying and practicing skills necessary to be a counselor. CIT 2's live in a cabin of younger campers, assisting the Cabin Counselor.
