A Tradition of Outdoor Adventure for the Future!

Offering year round environmental education, outdoor adventure-based experiental learning, horseback riding, and corporate, school, and community day & overnight lodging.

“I first went to 4-H Camp at age 10. It was all new … the people, the routine and the activities, like rock-hopping across the creek and making earrings for my mother.
It was also safe, well thought out, and controlled in a loose sort of way.

What could I hope for a ten year old today? …
It is a formula that still works.”

--- Philip L. Francis, CEO, PetSmart, Inc

Camp Shaw serves children of all races, creeds, religions and abilities. We have ADA compliant accessible accommodations including recreation therapy assistants and interns to help plan the best possible experience for your child; at no extra cost. Your child can ride horses, shoot hoops, play volley ball and swim in our pool or our creek. Please contact our director, Susan Crisp, CTRS (certified therapeutic recreation specialist) with any questions, comments or inquiries about attendance at camp or higher education credits for university students working with children with special needs.

NEW THIS SUMMER: Shaw Day Camp!
Monday Through Friday, 9am-5pm
Similar activities to our regular camp sessions, but in smaller groups with a higher staff-to-camper ratio.
$150 per week, indicate appropriate session on registration form

Camp Shaw-waw-nas-see has been providing wonderful opportunities to 4-H and non 4-H youth for over 60 years.

Accredited by the American Camping Association in site and program, Camp Shaw, with the addition of Day Camp, provides safe, supervised outdoor fun for campers aged 4 to 17. Resident Campers must be 7 years old.

Volunteer Counselor positions allow older returning campers to prolong their experience, indefinetly!

Camp staff is thoroughly interviewed, screened and trained. And many have completed Camp Shaw's highly successful Counselor-In-Training two-summer program.

Located just one-hour south of Chicago just outside of Kankakee Illinois, Camp Shaw is easy to find from any direction.
